The 2016 Worldwide Invitational
The Worldwide Invitational is an opportunity for players to showcase their skills before our camp’s head coaches from Australia, Germany, Belgium, Holland & Italy. In addition to playing for our coaches, the players will also have the opportunity to be scouted by the general managers and coaches from all the top leagues in Europe, Asia, and the D League that will also be in attendance at our event. Las Vegas and UNLV (the site of this year’s event) are the centerpieces to professional basketball’s summer free agency signing period. The Worldwide Invitational will be located at the UNLV Student Wellness & Recreation Center from July 10-12, which is 500 meters from the Cox Pavilion (Home of the NBA Summer League).
In 2015, the Worldwide Invitational camp had 88% of its players play professionally in the 2015-16 season. Those signings are located here and we believe our coaching staff & draft format will continue to bring this camp to the next level.
To be eligible for the 2016 Worldwide Invitational, all applicants must register before 9:30 pm US Eastern time on June 30, 2016 and must submit the non-refundable $175 registration fee.
Players must be 20 years or older and they also must have completed their NCAA or NAIA eligibility or be looking to forego their college eligibility to become a professional basketball player. Having an agent is not required, but players must have competed in the NCAA or professionally within the last two years.
Our Australian, German, Belgian, Dutch, & Italian coaches will travel to Las Vegas to coach the Worldwide Invitational teams. All the players that register for the event will watch live to see if they are drafted and to what coach they are selected by. The draft will take place live on July 1, 2016 at 8:30am US Eastern.
Prospective players that are drafted will then travel to Las Vegas with the hopes they can impress our coaches that will be coaching each of our camp’s teams as well as any of the other coaches from the top-tier professional leagues in Europe, Asia, and South America that will be in attendance.
Teams will consist of a maximum of eight players. The players will be selected from the players who register their participation in the draft pool. Players of all nationalities are welcome and we will stop accepting registrations at the first 200 players that apply.
Games will be played in four (4) ten (10) minute quarters. Each team will play four (4) games and the format will be standard pool play. You can find out more about the schedule here.
